Cappellin Venini & Co
has been in business since the early 1920's when it was
founded by Paolo Venini in Murano,
the glass making capital of near Venice, Italy. Paolo was
a Milan law school graduate who integrated the French tradition
of using designers in their fashion industry with the tradition
of glass blowing techniques of Murano. Murano

They excentuated that by using new shapes and experimental
coatings on their pieces, introduced by artists such as Carlo
Scarpa and Fulvio Cianconi. The Scarpa name is tied to collectible
glass of investment quality.
Carlo Scarpa's son Tobia Scarpa of Venice, joined Paolo Venini
at Cappellin Venini, contributing collectible designs and
introducing new techniques to the art of glass blowing.
